We've launched over a dozen churches, some down the road (in Loveland); others "across the pond" in Manchester and Vienna. In all of these areas we've sent the best people to go answer the same question: "How do we make being a follower of Jesus relevant and compelling to the people living in this community?" Now what would happen if we were intentional and focused—if we gathered our resources of people, time, energy, and money towards advancing this cause? That's where missions at Vineyard of the Rockies comes in to place! We plant culturally relevant churches in places God has called us to.
Missions here is about wrestling with one question: How do we establish and sustain new churches around the world? In Missions lingo, how can we launch a global church planting movement?
We’ve launched over a dozen churches and supported many more through Vineyard Partnerships:
- Colorado (Greeley, Loveland, Westminister)
- Wyoming (Cheyenne)
- Louisiana (New Orleans)
- Pennsylvania (Philadelphia)
- Washington (Seattle)
- Americas—Canada, Mexico (Fresnillo, Puerto Vallarta), Puerto Rico
- Europe—Austria, Czech Republic, England, Hungary
- Middle East—Jordan (Amman)
- Asia—Sri Lanka, Indonesia
We’ve sent some of our best people to go answer the questions: How do we make being a follower of Jesus relevant and compelling to the people living in this community? How can we show them God’s love in practical ways? We want to be intentional and focused. We want to gather our resources, people, time, energy and money and advance the cause of planting, supporting and sustaining communities of hope for the kingdom.
Our strategy is three-fold:
What about you?
Who knows, God may be calling you to be part of our Partnership efforts in Indonesia, Jordan, Puerto Rico or Sri Lanka. Or perhaps it’s to go on an Everyday Exports trip. Or maybe to help us around here to support it all! Here at Vineyard, we believe everyone gets to serve! God has a great adventure for each of us. Not all of us are called to be “missionaries” or church planters, but we are all called to have a mission and exercise our servant heart. It doesn’t matter if we cross the street or cross the water, as long as we go across and join with God to help people find a friendship with Jesus and encourage them to join in a local church. Here are a few easy ways to get involved:
- Pray with us on Wednesdays at noon
- Help produce and mail a missionary’s newsletter
- Join the missions volunteer email list
- Host a missionary when they visit
- "Adopt" a missionary
